I am currently going to Houston Community College but I want to major in kinesiology ot UofH. BTW, I just finished my first semester. My question is...should I apply at UofH and take classes there or should I take as many classes at junior colleges for lower cost then transfer to UofH?

I personally think that you should be fine taking your classes at the junior college to save money, but then again it really depends on how difficult it would be for you to later jump into your major at Uof H. I am sure there is someone (career counselor or something) at U of H that you could ask, or even the director of the kinesiology program.

It depends on how you look at it. I personally feel the college expierence for someone young is spending the full time at their university for the entire time to build the friendships and to have the 'other education' more fullfilling.

However if $$$ is a major issue then by all means take as many courses as you can at the CC level and get them out of the way.

Plus you can always make it whatever you want it to be, have just as much fun doing it your own way etc...

The one thing I would recomend is plotting out a course with the counsler at UofH to make sure all the classes you take will transfer and to make sure you don't take too many at the CC for hour restrictions etc...

Agreed. I took a few distance classes (where you just come in for tests, etc) through HCC. They were much cheaper and didn't tie up my time as I could study when I wanted to, etc. I made darn sure though that they were fully transferrable at Texas A&M College Station (where I eventually graduated) before I enrolled in them. A simple call to the A&M counselor verified that. I would take as many as you can at HCC IMO. You'll save tons of money and the classes typically aren't as demanding of your time.

Thanx for the info guy! I went to U of H and got all the info I need. I am gonna take my core classes at a local junior college for a year then transfer to U of H for my last 2 years.

Going to a university and getting a degree has been one of my greatest dreams.
