Any recommendations on a chiller that would work on 12 gallon cube? JBJ is in the process of releasing one but they are staying quiet. It is suppose to role out before summer.

I'm looking at the chiller by Aqua medic 150 watts of power. It's rated for up to a 20 gallon tank.

Can someone shed some light on how it works? Do I have to buy a power head to force water in through the chiller and then enough back pressure ot make back to the tank?

Anyone want to take a shot at this one ???

Yep you'll have to have a powerhead to run the water through chiller and back to the tank.

This one basically uses peltier cooling units just like the iceprobe chillers or this one, http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_chi ... sp?CartId=
but probably more than one unit, and it has the controler built into it which is nice.

How much are you needing to pull the temp down? If it's just a small amount I'd look at the one in the above link. It's just the same as the iceprobe chillers. Basically they've mounted an iceprobe in something along the lines of an AquaClear mini. You could probably do the same thing a bit cheaper by buying them seperately and DIYing it.

I think the AquaMedic one will probably pull your temp down a little further. I read two differing reports as to what it can do though. I'd do searches on n-r, and RC to see if folks are satisfied with them.
