Outpost.com which is Fry's online retail ordering site has the olympus c-5000 on sale this week for $199.

This is very similar to the olympus c-5050 zoom that I'm using.

Here's the link to outpost's page.

Here's a link to a side-by-side comparison with my camera.

Just an FYI for those that have made comments about wanting a camera and wanting to know what kind I'm using. You can also get an underwater housing for this camera for around $150

camera

speaking of camera's I got a very nice one, it's pricy but it's the best investment. I got the Nikon Coolpix 8700. 8 megapixel camera. When I looked around I got a deal and got it for 557 after rebate. (200 dollar rebate)

I just got a jbj nanocube deluxe, when it flourishes I'll be sure to post up pics. Right now my tank has been up since wednesday (nov. 24th '04)

By all accounts that's one sweet camera. And you got a great price on it. Where did you find it for that price?

Are you going to stick with the stock lighting or try an upgrade? I've been toying with the idea of getting the deluxe as well.

Djconn: As for the lighting, I dunno much about upgrading them. Is it necessary or does JBJ make a strong one stock? They seem bright to me, but like I said I'm rather new to this. What things can I <<NOT>> get with stock lighting so I know to avoid those purchases.

It's 583.99 + 6.95 for shipping (no tax)

I have a pair of Digital Rebels (300D) from Canon that I use mainly for wedding photography (our side business). The camera is great. Everytime we take it to family get-togethers everyone asks how much it costs. They usually gasp and say nevermind...lol

Thanks for the camera link. I've browsed their page nearly all the prices look really good.

As for the nano cube deluxe. Most people are still modding them. 48w of pc light simply isn't that much light. You can still keep most soft corals, mushrooms, zoos, sun corals, even some of the LPS corals under it, so you do have lots to work with, but the general consensus would be that it's not enough light for clams, anemones, or SPS. I haven't done enough reading on them to see yet whether I think it's more cost effective to mod a normal one, or mod the deluxe. Even with the two fans that come with the deluxe, most people that mod it are having to take the stock fans out and replace them with better ones, so I don't see why you wouldn't just save some money and go with the basic nanocube, and add your lights and fans.

Nano Deluxe mod...

You guys have to see my pics that I posted with my Digital Elf Canon s500. I believe the extra 30 watts of high performance Actinic 03 give me the blues I like plus what my clam needs to surivive. I still add every other night a dosage of phytomax from kentmarine.
