Chambers on a 12G NANO DX??

I read people put LR and cheato in the back. WHat does this do?

I have the Spongs in CHamer 1, PUMP and Heater in 3. What should I put in the middle?

the live rock and cheato are just natural filtration good for keeping trates down and phosphates if you use the sponges make sure and clean them regulary

If you have LR rubble in your filtration, make sure you clean out the detritus that forms under it every week... if not, it can easily defeat the purpose and lead to excessive nitrates.

WHat about the activated carbon? DO you still use it?

I use chemipure but you can run carbon to polish up your water if you want too

Definitely run the carbon and change it out every 2 to 4 weeks. Resins like Chemi-pure and Purigen are a great addition too.

What are you supposed to do with the cereamic rings? Ive heard that you should leave them and ive heard you should take them out.

LR rubble replaces the need for the ceramic rings. Just remove ceramic rings out.

is it bad to do the change when the tank has been running for a while?

no it wont hurt anything, better to change them now while your still cycling.
