Caulerpa

I picked up a couple of pieces of LR today to add to my tank ... I haven't see too many hitchhikers yet, but I did notice a couple small patches of something that I thought was majano (ugh!) - However, the 'bubbles' are attached to a long, horizontal vine, so I am thinking it's grape caulerpa ... The question is whether or not this stuff is good or bad ?

My guess it's fine as long as it doesn't start spreading .. Sound right ?

Thanks in advance

youll want to get rid of that stuff ASAP, it can spread like wild fire. it also can be good if kept in an refugium, the down side is that it can go sexual (it bleachs out and dies) and leach everything it pulled out of your water back in. then your tank could crash. so in experience i just get rid of it and use some cheato algae. Keep an eye on it though as it can come right back.

BTW, I have heard that it is best to boil it first to kill it if you plan to flush it. Or just throw it in the trash can.
