Captive purity refractometer w/ light ....

Hey reefers,

My refractometer with light came in yesterday and I calibrated it easy. Then I tested both tanks with the refractometer and then the deep six hydrometer.

Results:

12 gallon nano

hydrometer 1.023

refractometer 1.026

3.5 tru Vu tank

hydrometer 1.023

refractometer 1.028

I ran the test over at least 3 times each and the results were still conclusive...

Man the built in light is awesome makes the background contrast better to see the markings. I try it without the lighting and it's still sharp but not as good and easy as the light...

What do you guys think???

I had the same experience whith the drastic difference in salinity levels when I got my refractometer. I was shocked at how far off the hydrometers were - and I had two...the deep six and the box shaped one. (can't remember who makes that one)

Does your refractometer adjust for temp Mike?
