Canister vs HOB Opinion

I have a 10G SW that I am trying to get the filtration how I want it. I currently have 2 power heads on this tank but would like some form of mechanical filtration. I have a 75G FW that I am running 2 cannisters and a HOB. That is way more filtraion than I really need on that tank so I would like to take one of the filters off and put it on my SW tank. The fileters I have to choose from are

Penguin 330 (HOB rated at 330 GPH)
Magum hot pro with Bio wheel (canister rated at 250 GPG)
proquatics 1600 (canister rated a 160 GPH)

I would honestly miss the proquatics the least if I were to remove it from my 75G but I read an article that said a canister was not a good idea on a SW can anyone verify that for me or give me a reason that canisters are bad. Secondly which of the three would you choose, if any?

Thanks,
SM

I would remove the Penguin 303, I am not familiar with this unit but you could possibly turn it into a HOB refugium, have a place for a bag of carbon, phosphate sponge, or chemipure. If it is deep enough you may even be able to place your heater in the HOB.
You could use the cannister but it is extremely difficult to change a bag of carbon or whatever so it wouldn't get used. Also if you were to use a mechanical media you wouldn't be able to rinse it out as often as needed without going through a big hassle.

That is kind of what I was thinking. That filter does such a good job on my 75 that I hate to see it go. It is about 8 or 9 years old so it is probably not on the market anymore. It is not big enough for my heater unless I got a smaller one which I would love to do but is a heater in a plastic contanier a good idea? Sounds dangerous. If I did go with a HOB would I still need the power fileters. I want to clean up the tank as much as possible.
