The info I've read on nano's indicates that the frequent water changes of 20% or mor provide the essential trace nutrients for all creatures in the tank.

BUT - shouldn't we be adding a calcium supplement?

well 20% of water out of 100% isnt alot thats like 2-3gallons out of a ten gallon. So the size of the tank counts. What u have in the tank(corals, fish, inverts)and what they need.I would say that if u check the tank for calicum and its low than add some some supplement, water changes with salt not ro/di will give to the tank some nutrients.make sure your sg dosent go up.

Jem, pick up a calcium test kit and one for alkilinity. Test both and see what your readings are before beginning any dosing regimen for calc/alk.
