Blue tub zoas.

I am very interested in purchasing blue tubs.
I was wondering what is a reasonable price per polyp for blue tubs?

Also, I f you could give me any information about blue tub habits that would be great.
Are there any corals that I can't keep next to them, how often they bud etc.

Also what are those little white discs that people place their frags on?

Thanks

i have no idea on price but don't use those white plastic plugs. They are nearly impossible to get to stay in place (on rocks or wedged between rocks), even the aragonite plugs are hard to get to stay without glue. IMO, your best bet is to glue them to a rock or get them to grow on the rock.

hmmm i have been a bit busy so i went back and read your pico thread before commenting. true tubs blues are usually very expensive as you are paying for the lineage and the name - ie they are the blue in many peoples eyes and therfore are willing to pay for them - generally 10 - 15$ per polyp. although i have a very extensive zoa collection i do not own them myself, but would certainly buy them if i got the right deal/trade
now a personal comment that you can take or leave - i would not go out and buy tubs blue zoas and throw them in a brand new pico tank. it's just not a good practice IMO. i would buy several cheaper yet equally pretty zoas and try them first and then in a YEAR if the tank has shown the stability to allow those zoas to color up, thrive, and spread then i would consider some higher end zoas. there are many awesome zoas without names that you can get 10 polyps frags for 10-20$ or even whole colonies for 30 - 50$ not just 3 polyps - JMO

Thanks.
I've been hearing that a lot.

If the tank parameters aren't stable then I won't get any thing at all.
I found someone to get me a pretty good deal of a frag of their original colony(under $10) per polyp.

i'll see how well the tank is doing before buying them.
Also he said that he could hold them for me for about a month and wait for my tank to stable out.
I also get any added growth yay.

So as of right now I'm still deciding on to get them or not, and I'm just trying to learn as much as I can about them first.

If i don't feel it's right for any reason at all, I won't buy them
