LOCALS ONLY! So. Cal...

I have to sell my yellow morph Bearded Dragon along with it's home, including heatlamp, 48" UVA/UVB fluorescent bulb and fixture (bulb is due to be changed), several hideouts etc.... My new apartment won't allow me to keep it. Here is a link to some picks of him/her...

http://www.nanotank.com/forum/viewtopic ... 82&start=0

I raised this thing since it was 8 weeks old...it is now about 3 1/2 years old. It will be hard for my wife and I to part with him/her, but we have to do it. He/she is pretty tame, but it does have attitude. It has never bitten, nor would I ever expect it to.

what a bummer...you can't sneak in the bearded dragon in later? I hid Eddie when we bought him as a 3 month pup, (knowing that our apt doesn't allow them without paying, hehe)

shame though you must part with your over 3 year friend.. :(

Jesse,

Why did you move apartments? Was the move closer to your job? An AC unit vs no unit like me?

Just curious?

sorry you have to sell you dragon - i know how hard it is to have to "downsize" - i did that when i was deployed. i love dragons - by far one of the coolest reps you can keep! - also BTW i was wondering where you had been lately - kinda slacked on the posts for a while so i figuered something was up. hope you enjoy the new place.

Yeah,

Talking about moving, my new home closes escrow on Thurs, I'm a little worried about the move; my reef hasn't been moved since it was set up almost 1 year in August...

Sorry guys... no internet=no posts.

I moved because the last place I was at raised up the rent to $1,370 for the 1 bedroom we were in... so we said "see ya". The place we are at now is great, way cheaper and pays all utilities. No a/c though... too bad.

Jesse,

Just buy an AC unit and rig it to your room. You'll have the cool air and a piece of mind for your reef... Not to mention, the units are very cheap as their a ton to choose from...

I cannot stand the heat in this condo that I sold, I can hardly wait to move, I hated it from day one, the heat is unbearable and home owner association will not allow us to hang out AC units out the window...

How about I hang my bed out the window so I cool myself in the night HOA? Man I'm happy to be moving on this cord...

I'm just dreading the move...

Actually it is cooler in my new apartment without A/C than it was in my old apartment WITH A/C. I also added a small fan over my sump and the temp stays at 80.5 at night to 81.5 during the day.

Both ends of our new apartment have windows, so we open the back sliding glass door and the front door and it is literally a wind tunnel in our apartment... we are closer to the beach and it is cooler where we live now.

Your apartment will not allow you to keep a lizard???? What the heck??? I am currently living in a 2 bedroom apartment here in FL, and have 2 dogs, a Moluccan Cockatoo, and Conure, a breeding pair of Congo African Greys (that have 2 babies every 3-4 months), and a African White Necked Raven that freeflies throughout the house! I also have 2 saltwater tanks!

I paid my pet deposit for the dogs, and even had a bird on my shoulder when I signed my lease. My apartment is for sale now as a condo, and the manager came in to measure everything, and never mentioned anything about my ark.......

You must just have a butthead leasing agent. I bet you could put it in, and they will never say anything to you about it. I would not part with your lizard until you have to!

Good luck!

For those of you that live in a place that doesn't allow window AC units they also make a free standing AC unit that looks kind like a big air cleaner that has a hose that you put in the window to exhaust the hot air. We used a couple of these in one of the stations I used to work in before we moved the a new station when the central AC went out. These things even came with remote controls.

My leasing agent is actually VERY kind and she is a greatr person... it is just that the rules are pretty tight... which isnt necessarily a bad thing. at least i got to keep my tank :)
