Base Rock

I'm looking for advice on types of rock to use as a base rock. I'm from Indiana so my options are probably pretty limited. I'm trying to keep from having rock shipped due to the cost of shipping. I have heard that limestone can be used as a base rock but I haven't heard much about it. Any ideas on what could be used and what shouldn't?

Yeah like Ed said, stick with all LR in a nano... base rock is good for large reefs, but you only need 15-20lbs of rock for most nanos anyways!

it's going to be a 29g so not quite a nano. The more i read about the other rocks the more it doesn't sound like they will work that well. Guess i'll drop the $5/lb for LR ;-)

I called my LFS today and they have base rock for $2.19/lb so I will be going that route. Thanks for the input everyone
