Just wanted to let you know I upgraded to the maxi 900 today, Works real good!! Pulled the tubes off of the dinky old pump (What a joke) and slid them on the new one. Was I suppose to use the suction cups? Didint bother, It seemed to fit snug agaist the bottom. Thanks again for the help!! Next mod is a Rio 50 power head for the inside and a skimmer. This Friday Im going to the LFS to get my clean-up crew. Its will be a little over 2 weeks fri that the tank has been cycling. THANKS AGAIN!!

I am glad to hear you are happy with the results from the pump upgrade. :thumbup:
The MJ900 should give you a good flow, reduce the heat from the stock JBJ pump, and there is no need to install the suction cups unless if the pump is making a vibrating noise. I certainly recommend a surface skimmer for your tank, which will help remove the nutrients from the water surface.

Post some picts of your tank when you get a chance
