Anyone have experience with Golden Dwarf Moray Eels?

I kind of have this thing for eels, but I don't think I'm equipped to deal with one that gets large and/or aggressive. But then I heard (here) and read about Golden Dwarf Moray Eels, which are small (no longer than 10") and not aggressive.

Has anyone ever had one of these?

I imagine they are hard to find, though. ?? Or does anyone know of another species of eel that stays small and is generally not aggressive? I don't mind having an eel-only tank. I just want something that won't get huge and bite off my hand. ;)

i've never heard of them. i share your interest though. snowflakes get pretty big (30" or so) but are very docile. they don't do much swimming and you usually only see their head sticking out of a cave.

just noticed you have a tank with seagrass. how difficult is that to keep? how deep is your sandbed? i'm putting a tank together now that i'll be planting for seahorses and have been doing some research on different types of grasses that are available. what kind do you have?

In my planted tank, I have mostly marine plants rather than actual grasses, although I do have a few grasses. I have shaving brush, money plant, maiden's fan, and a couple of macroalgae: caulerpa and something else called "chimney" maybe?

I have to say, I love the look of a natural planted tank, but the upkeep is a real pain, especially with the macroalgae.

I have a pair of small blue striped pipefish in this 10 g. tank, as well as 3 juvenile seahorses. I am getting ready to move it all into a 29 g. tank this weekend. The horses love to hitch to the plants, but then again, seahorses will hitch to anything, including each other, rocks, filter intake tubes, heaters, fake corals, snails, etc... Seahorses aren't particular when it comes to hitches. :) but I like the plants for them, as I think the plants are "softer" hitches than some of the other things they could hook up to. I also have a gorgonian, which they love to hitch to and sleep within its branches. I definitely recommend the gorgonian to you.
