Anemone ID (H Malu/M Doreensis)

Hi Guys,

Im gonna be getting this anemone from someone soon, just want someone to ID this, ive narrowed it down to Macrodactyla Doreensis and Heteractis Malu.

Its nearly 2/3 the way down, not the heliofungia.

Not sure but its beautiful. What color is it?

Hi

Its supposed to be a purple green colour. Might be a bit bleached. It has verrucae along the column which is buried in the substrate.

Apparently, the nem had just eaten and therefore looks a little "flat".

Any ideas?

to me it kind of looks like a plate coral....sould be wrong but i have two small ones that look just like that.IMO

yeah, I'd say more like a plate. Anemones I've seen are more fatter, and have a bigger base.

While it looks like a plate to me as well in the pic, there's no way that anyone with any experience actually keeping saltwater critters would confuse the two.

I can't wait til you get it and can get some better pics.

Hi guys, im quite a bit sure it isnt a plate coral. But if it is, im naming it Heliofungia Mihkaailii :lol3:

On a serious note, it doesnt have a skeleton at all, which rules out any fungiid. Will try to get pics soon, but at first the guy told me its about 10+cm, which was okay, but now he's told me its 5-6cm, which is a little small for trading so much stuff with, lol.

Will get pics the moment i recieve, if all goes well, that means coming week.
