Algae?

It seems that when I bought my star polyps over a month ago it has some sort of grassy algae or plant along for the ride. Well, it seems to be spreading and my star polyps don't seem to like it one bit. It doesn't seem to be good or of benefit, but I don't really know. What is this and what should I do about it? I've already remove the star polyps to try and clean it all off. What else?

Sounds like hair algea. Can you test for phosphates?

Not at the moment, I'll grab a test kit....do normal levels prevent hair algae?

Not really...phosphates breed algae big time!!

You shoul try kalkawasser or fiji gold calcium 'cus it takes adavntage of undeserable algae such as brown algae,hair algae etc. and it promotes the development of the coraline algae.
