I was at the game on Saturday! It was really cold but a great time. Some friends and I have a tradition where we rent two 40 foot RVs and go up there and tailgate for the weekend. This year was really organized and someone even made t-shirts. I think our turnout was 40 for the game and 50 hanging out drinking beer at our RV.
Finally got a win. I've been waiting 3 yrs to beat Tech. Now we just have to see what happens Nov. 26 2:30 pm.
djconn : where were your seats? are you an alumni? i agree, it was definitely freezing, but well worth it!!! I was feelin the cold more than anyone, me and my friends decided to go shirtless with the aTm logo painted on our chest. I was frozen by the second quarter.
AGGIES #1!!!!
I never made it to Lubbock. I'm ATM class of '99 btw.
My folks live near Houston and their neighbors are good friends of theirs. Their eldest tried to get into A&M but wasn't accepted, so he became a longhorn instead (rah rah rah hisssssssssssssss). Their next eldest decided she wanted to get as far away from Mom & Pop as possible so she went to Tech. I don't know what the next two will do. Talk about rivalries. My bro and I are both Aggies and my sister went to SWT (now called Texas State or something) but she's enrolled in an Aggie Master's Program. Talk about rivalries at the homestead!
djconn, Phischy, what'd ya'll major in???? i'm working towards Biology/Marine Biology, looking to become a diver for Exxon, or Chevron, studying rigs, reefs, etc..... that are surrounding possible drilling sites. Just curious........
I got my degree in Environmental Science under the Dept. of Geography. I do environmental air quality work here in Houston. I originally studied Marine Biology for 2 years down at the A&M in Galveston campus. All the courses from the very start seemed way too specialized for my liking so I decided to take a more general route in CS. Sometimes I regret it and sometimes and happy with my decision. Jobs are really hard to come by unless you wish to be a professor or professional researcher. Most of my friends who did continue on with the Marb plan eventually switched to Maritime Systems Admin in order to get work more quickly.
Reef diving would be really cool. Pretty dangerous though. Are you planning to go down to the Galveston campus? That is probably where you should be since it's their speciality.
I've got a B.S. in Forestry Science and Keg Beer. Never did get the minor in chew though... Now I work out in San Diego for the County doing GIS and making maps. It's boring but I live in a great place and I also work 4 10's. Gotta love 3 day weekends every weekend!
I'm transfering to the Galveston campus in the Spring. Had to get some base classes out of the way, but by the end of the semester i'll be ready to go.
