Just a few questions.
I have read quite a bit but still have unanswered ?'s
i am thinking of 72 to 100 litre tank with live rock and a small number of fish and cuc.
something like a dream dms-500pl or simalar (this one is about 72 ltr)
advice about tanks would be welcome.
also i have a spare eheim 2213 external filter which i was thinking of stuffing full of lr to help with keeping the levels stable and invreasing the overall volume. would this be practical also it would also be used to increase the flow.
what do i need to buy to get started as i have a tropical tank of 90gal uk
and would like advice on going over to sw with a nano

:welcome to Nanotank.com!

Honestly before thinking what tank to get a better place to start I've found is to figure out what you want IN your tank. Then you can get the tank that will best fit your budget and livestock needs. The eternal filter with LR is fine, I've seen lots of tanks use them that way and the LR definitely helps with the biological filtration.

The big parts of a saltwater reef tank are: 1. Biological filtration (live rocks and sand) 2. Water and flow 3. Lighting

If you are doing fish only with live rock or just fish only you don't have to worry about lighting. Those are the basics for a good tank. Nanos are a good low initial cost way of getting into the hobby but normally require more attention that larger tanks as disasters can occur more rapidly due to less total water volume.

bit of an update

Have found a jewel lido 120 with marine conversion at £349 and wondered if anyone had experience with this tank.
I knoe the lights would prob need to be upgraded a bit for corals but it would allow me to get a start with fish, live rocks and sand
