Adding more flow to 12g NC?

I upgraded my stock pump to MJ900, but still thinking may need some more flow to other side of tank. Just wondering if anyone has any idea how to add another pump to get more flow, with out putting pump in display. I had tried using the stock pump in chamber 3 with the MJ900 but seems to much for that chamber being that it draws the water really low in chamber and starts to suck air. can anyone give any ideas/suggestions?? Thanks!

I believe I have seen people add an additional pump in the first chanber and drill a hole in the false wall and run loc-line into the the tank.... does that make sense???
