A prop tank? Am I crazy?

JeffDubya,

I like the drive for this frag tank. I too got the bug and just created a tank (actually a sump). For me, I created a 10-12 gallon long tank which is basically a elogated sump. In one section I'll have my chaetamorph for nitrates and the rest would be for frags! My sand is about 2 inches right now and water depth would be 7-9 inches. I'm going with a halide light which I never had before and a actinic setup. The halide should get here anytime now and during my cycle I'll figure out my actinic situation. For me, critters wise I'm only going to have a six line and 2-3 hermits! Well hope we can help each other have success

Here the tank I created...

Did you buy the fixture yet?

I am not going to use a MH lamp for a few reasons. Here's my logic...

A friend in our local aquarium club is using T5 bulbs instead of MH. As a result, he spends less on power, doesn't have to worry about cooling his tank, invested way less in his equipment, and doesn't have to worry about evaporation-caused salinity swings.

But, if you really are thinking about a MH system, I can get you a good one, cheap, through another friend. I will PM you the deets.

Sorry for not getting back on the pm. I did order one about a week ago and I'm just waiting to recieve it. I just want to see the color diffrence from a pc to a halide lighiting.... Hope the investment was worth it, atleast its winter time so my living room will be heated!

What can I say? I did the reading, a friend offered me a great deal, and I am using a MH pendant for this project as well.

Here's my sketch...

Skip, you still alive out there???

Or foxit reader :) It's MUCH smaller and MUCH quicker at opening PDF files. Only thing is that it won't open Adobe encrypted PDF files... just FYI
