Hey guys!
My little nanotank is a freshwater 5 gallon hex. It's the little $30 kit you get from WalMart and wherever else. I replaced the lamp-holder with one from my house, and I put in a screw-in 20w "compact flourescent" light, as pictured here:

I'm trying to grow swords in it, and I have a Hagen CO2 and even the little flourish tabs in the substrate (which is 50% flourite, 50% gravel). I think my light is lacking. This light *should* give me 4wpg, but it doesn't have a reflector, and I question its quality because it's just a screw CF.
What do you think of this lighting? I see a lot of you guys with very small tanks and insane amounts of lighting, on the order of 10x and more watts per gallon. Is this OK? Doesn't this fry the inside of your tank?
