nice start! What are your plans for the tank? Will it stay a FOWLR or are you going to keep corals eventually.

Will your tank be at work? Not sure but it looks like a cubicle. If so FOWLR might be nice because of maintence issues.

What part of the country are you in? Are there any local reef/marine clubs near you. I've purchased/traded several small frags from local reefers. I got a much better deal than I would have online, and got to see what I was choosing in person. I've also bought large mushroom rocks, and the like with another friend into the hobby, and just split the rock/cost.

Have you upgraded the lighting? I just started out with one of these tanks and it looks like we're on the same path (sort of). I ditched the stock filter for an AC20 (which it appears you did as well), but I'm concerned to add coral because I'm running off one a single screw in PC 11W 50/50 bulb.

5 Gallon Hex - Mods

Hey I have a the same 5 Hex tank at the house... You can make some tremendous Mods to this tank... I have a 20Watt 50/50 Coralite under the hood... the stock Eclipse filter wasn't quite enough for me so I did a little more cutting and added a Marineland Penguin 100 on the back... I left the filter pad out and put about 6-7 pieces of live Fuji rock instead...

I have a wide variety of life in it, including a Brown Creek blenny, Two Spot Blenny, Sexy Shrimp, 2 sand snails and a Starfish...

I will start a post with pics and mod details soon...
