i am about to get a 5.5gallon and build a wooden canopy im planning on buying a 50/50 coralife screw on bulb it might be 2 20watts or 1 50 watt but.. only problem is , would this be perfect for the lighting on fish and corals? or would it be to much power just for a 5.5 gallon? please help me out

it would help me out some more if someone shows me there canopy? and examples of pics and how can i make it look legit :langle

i would be fine for both fish and coral. in that small of a tank youll probably want to stick to easier corals anyways, so light wont be an issue.

oo so if i went lower down to 30watts would it still be good for corals? like zoas and shrooms? cause its going 6watts a gallon?

Keep in mind too that alot of the output on those lamps will be lost because of inefficient reflection. The watts-per-gallon rule is really not a very good guideline either.
