Okay I'll bite.
My aquapod doesn't have the stock hood so I don't know how much room should be there, but from what I've gathered, it will be similar if not, the same.
When you get your tank, make sure there's no cracks or damage to it during shipping, and be prepared for that to happen since the rate of it happening is like 30-40%. Don't let it break your heart, be calm, and call them up and they should (don't hold me on that) send you another on warranty.
Now that I got that out of the way, first you want to remove all the stuff in the back. The stock pump, hopefully you have a replacement for it. I use maxijet 1200 for my ap24. If you take that blue stock tube that connects to the V shape flow, you can connect that to your maxijet simply by using plastic strip locks to lock it in. Make sure you use pliers or you'll get air bubbles.
Next I use this egg grate thing that I took from a member of another forum that helps the mechanical filtration. Simply it's a shelf with cotton/filter floss and any other chemical filter mdeia, that creates good flow and good control on water level It'll be a little project so if you want to know about that, send me a whisper and I'll redirect you to proper instructions. But taht would go to the right side.
So... from left chamber it's the replacement pump, second chamber is the heater, which is where I have mine... next going right would be my temp probe, and finally the egg grate thing where the water falls onto. Here's a pic for better visual aid...
Here's FTS...
and here's what my back looks like from top view..
Again, from left to right, is the pump, then heater, then probe, then the mechanical filter.
Hope that helped... more than one person
EDIT: One bag of the 20lb LS will be enough. The surface area isn't that wide in the ap24 so you'll actually have like 1inch of sand bed. Live rock, I basically stuck to 24lbs of it. Actually it was exactly 24lbs.
Hope that helped.
