12 gallon stocking questions

I've discussed this on other forums before, but I guess that this would be the best place to do it, seeing as this forum specializes in reef aquariums.

Anyways, I was trying to figure out a combination of two fish to put in my twelve gallon aquarium. So far I have a couple of hermit crabs, a couple peppermint shrimp (to deal with an aptasia on one of my live rocks), and some corals. The fish would have to be reef safe, of course.

Among the fish that I've thought about, I don't know what to do: 1.) keep peaceful fish together, 2.) keep semi-aggressive fish together, or 3.) keep peaceful and semi-aggressive fish together. 1 would probably be the safest choice; 3 the least safe choice.

If I was to keep peaceful fish, would a purple firefish and a clown goby be fine together? That would be option 1.

For 2, is it possible to keep semi-aggressive fish together? For instance, a six-lined wrasse and one of the pseudochromis, like a bicolor or strawberry?

Or...would it be better to keep a peaceful fish with a semi-aggressive fish? I'd imagine that the peaceful fish, like the firefish, would be in danger in that scenario...

Otherwise, what would people recommend? I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a purple firefish, but I'd really like a six-lined wrasse and I want all my fish to live together as peacefully as possible?

Thanks for any help that can be given to me.
