    What the...?!

Sorry the pics aren't too clear. I saw this thing cruising around my pico and snapped a shot of it. I tried to highlight it a bit as it doesn't stand out from the rock much. Looks like some form of snail, but no shell. What is it?

    RedSea Aqua Vase Update

That's a good point. I forgot to mention that when I took out the mount I fliped the plate over so it now has "feet" to provide a gap for air. The screws don't fit back in that way (too short) but that's ok. I put an eraser under the other end so it's the same at both ends.

    RedSea Aqua Vase Update

Well if short is good then none is better, right? I just took the whole clamp and gooseneck off, leaving just the lamp. Since I have the clear lid I just set the lamp on that. Works great, looks better, and about doubles the light in the tank, (half the distance...). I'll post pictures soon.

    RedSea Aqua Vase Update

Yeah, I just haven't gotten around to it. I am surprised how well things are doing with just the stock light and a "moonbeam" LED. I keep telling myself I'm going to build a nice hood to hide the lights, etc. Someday. Great idea! I'll try that. It does look a bit wierd with the lamp bent down...

    RedSea Aqua Vase Update

My little .75 gal Aqua Vase is still doing great, so I thought I'd post the results of an experiment I tried. I was getting pretty tired of cleaning up slime algae, so I thought I'd try the Tim Allen approach to filtration: "More Power". I picked up a Penguin 100, (smallest hang on I found with...

    .75g Red Sea Aqua Vase

Since Nov, so about 4 months. I'll declare victory if it's all still good at 6 months. I suppose he would have done better if I had fed him huh? I think the Catch 22 of gobys is they are small enough to fit in a tank this size but can't get enough to eat in a tank this size.

    .75g Red Sea Aqua Vase

Yeah, I tried a 13w 50/50 but the power supply for the stock light doesn't seem to have enough horsepower to get it lit. It just flickers. I talked to my friend about a lid. While we both saw the possiblity of a nice eBay business, his wife recently had twins so he is a little short on time...

    .75g Red Sea Aqua Vase

I thought I'd add my tank to the growing list of Aqua Vase users. I saw one of these and had to have it. I had done a 6g Eclipse before and this looked a bit more difficult/fun. It's been up and running for a few months now with better results than I had expected. close up: and from a...
