Skinson, the umbrella looking thing sounds like its a small feather duster..I recently found one on my new tank I setup. As for the brown anemone looking thing it most likely is Aiptasia which is a bad thing. Those things spread fast and can harm your surrounding corals. HTH

Hey guys hope everything is going good on your tanks. I know you guys are having a bit of an issue with the algae growth on the tank. I get the same thing but the best way to keep the growth down is to just clean the tank. I use a Mag-Float 30 and just clean the tank every couple of days or so...

Gotta love'em Yellowheads we had a few here at our store but they sold so fast and now I can't seem to find them at the wholesalers. :sad:

Thanks Brian..Yea I was also thinking about adding a Rena XP1 to it so it will help filter more stuff. But I'm gonna see how this goes and if it doesn't seem to be filtering good then maybe I'll add an additional filter.

I agree with Jesse on just building your own with a 10g or 20g but if youre the type of person that doesnt want to deal with all the stuff or is just not good with your hands then I would go with one of the all in ones. I like the Oceanics more than the JBJ. HTH

Re: BIOCUBE FILTER Are you planning to have any LPS or small polyps? If so I would recommend taking out the bio balls since those are known as nitrate magnets. I took mine out the day I set everything up and everything has been stable without the balls.

I had the same problem after setting up my tank...I resolved the issue by just simply not using the filter pad and so far everything is kosher.

JD the Hydor rotating water deflector goes where the stock nozzle goes for the water return and what it does is rotates 360 degrees so that it mimics somewhat of a wave action in the tank. It is all powered by the water flow that flows through it so no need for electrical. I havent replaced the...

So far so good in my 29g BC...Ive kept the stock pump with it and just added a Hydor rotating water deflector and it works good and I also changed the 10k bulbs with a 50/50 a lot more blue...Oh and I also trashed that carbon pad they have. Good luck with it!
