    Tank setup help

I've started to plan out my spring project and decided to setup a tank in my new apartment. My placement is only going to allow for a tank length up to 30"; so I'm thinking either 25G - 24"X12"X20" (the 20" height makes me wonder) or 29G - 30"X12"X18". My decision will pretty much be made...

Trying to get back into the game...

With the fixtures I have planned for the setup running a pair of 70W won't be an option. The only option I have for running a pair of HQI's is; pair of 150W My choices for a single setup are 150, 175, 250, or 400 ... but the 400W is scratched from the list already because it's just way too...

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

OH NO, the 250W or 400W wouldn't be for 24G Nanocube ... it would be for the setup in the link below. Most likely the 25G rectangle tank. http://www.nanotank.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2428 Still over kill??

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

My questions is still about evaporation ... with an open top and the HQI MH, wouldn't there be a lot of water evaporation due to heat?? This is a setup that I really want to try, but I think my lighting will be about 250W or 400W HQI MH; so I'm thinking evaporation problems could be heavier...

Trying to get back into the game...

I've also been reading this book by Tullock; Natural Reef Aquariums. It's been a great book; talks a lot about emphasis on LR/LS and not depending or dropping so much coin on technology. He's had great success with his various tank sizes. I'm pretty much done trying to figure out and plan...

Trying to get back into the game...

Reefman23, I've been checking out that link you posted to the CPR AquaFuge PS Refugium and I do think it could be a deffinate way to go; I like the skimmer integration. I'm not too familiar with refugium setups though and the pictures are difficult to make out how the refugium is...

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

Sadielynn, I have a question about the egg crate top for the tank; any problems with too much evaporation with that setup?? How much wattage for lighting are you using?? It sounds like a great simple sollution and I think I'm going to give it ago on my tanks setup.

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

I've heard the same problem posted here in the forums too ... another reason why I'm trying real hard to stay away from them. Although the 24G is on back-order and pre-selling only, so that may be indication that things are getting corrected for the new and true 2006 shipments. I'd say...

Advice on upgrading to 24 Gal Nano

I don't have a Nano Cube but I'll share some thoughts ... I'll looking at a new setup and was considering the AquaPod 24G with the 150w HQI MH ... either the 150W or the 75W would be great choices ... I just like the future options that the 150W provide. As for the open top, that should...

Trying to get back into the game...

Yeah, I think the 'Pod' is out. The 24G Pod with 150W HQI is Pre-selling at $399.95US, which to me seems like a fair price ... if I lived in the US. I think it's turning out that I'm becoming too picky to go pre-fab; especially since I'll have to pay shipping, duties, and taxes to bring in...
