    Guess who's coming to dinner???

Maybe DJ can make sticky of the pic for future reference, they are real hard to spot unless you know what to look for. In fact a nuisance sticky would be a great addition with pics of aiptasias, non reefsafe crabs, majanos, etc.

    Yay yaa!!!

I hear you there. If I spent as much time on one board as I do on the ones I spend time on I would be past Incysor with the number of posts (I think I have over 2500 posts on RC and I haven't been going there for about a year due to the way they have changed). I need to figure a way to make my...

    Lighting for a 10 gallon

My vote is also for the Coralife fixture, they also make a smaller fixture to fit a 10 (either 32 or 36 watt) but I would go with the higher wattage light otherwise you'll probably end up having to upgrade later.

    Cleap-Up Crew Question

A diatom bloom is a normal part in a new tank. Follow Sadies advice and it should go away soon.

    LR

If you are in the process of cycling your tank then you want the lights off for sure because of the higher available nutrients in the water that nuicance algae feed on, adding light to the mix allows the algae to take off.

    Need help

I have to agree, buy as much lighting as you can now so you don't have to upgrade later. What are the dimensions of the 15 you are talking about (is it a 15 high or regular)? One is 20" long and the other is 24", this will have an efect on the light fixture you can use. BTW :welcome to...

    Building a tank

Thanks for the reply. That is kinda the way I am leaning. I am thinking about buying the acrylic in 12"x12" squares to eliminate alot of cutting. I have some smaller stuff I can use to make the top out of.

Your sand will become live with time as bacteria and micro flora/fauna establish themselves on your sand. For cleaners try a couple of nassarious snails for the sandbed and a couple of margarita, cerith, trochus, astrea, etc. snails for the glass and LR. A couple of small hermits can also be...

Bullied clown evolution of another pico 2.5 ( pics added )

I am so glad that things are working out well for little Fugu. It was also a very good idea that you pointed out that this is not the way to set a tank up but that it was an emergency and you did all you could to keep things as stable as possible during the transition.

    5 gallon question

Your tank is looking good. Were you working on the tank when the pics were taken? If not I would raise the water level nearer the top, if your powerhead keeps pumping water from above the surface it will end up making alot of air bubble probelms. What is the wattage on the lights? I would...
