    Doctors Foster and Smith

Glad to hear it. I have ordered from them many times but never had to deal with customer service. I am happy to hear that if I ever need them they care about their customers and not just the sale.

12g Nano Tank (updated 4/15 with Pics)

I am a big fan of the "cove" style layout, I liked it before but like it better since you redid the rockwork. Do you know what kind of fish and corals you want yet?

.75g Aqua Vase and Kent Marine NanoReef Parts A and B

I also say water changes alone are plenty to keep all of your levels in check. I would go for a small shrimp or porcelin crab for a resident instead of a fish, the fish is just too much ofd a bioload IMO for such a small tank.

    Baby Snowflake

Most of the seahorses we are able to get here in the US are captive Bred (ORA is one of the larger suppliers, they are located in Ft. Pierce, FL). They are also available from hobbiests that have bred them in their homes. It is getting harder to find wild caught seahorses but then it makes...

    plankton and worms?

sSounds like someone is pooing in your tank and the whitish thing you described definitely sounds like a pod or grammarous shrimp, both of which are good things to have in your tank.

    Nitrite Question

There are two types of bacteria that are the main workers in your biological filter. The first bacteria (nitrosomas) convert ammonia to nitrite, they are appearantly well established by your posted concerns. The second bacteria (nitrobacter) convert nitrites to nitrates, until these bacterias...

    Newbie, First Tank, Advice Appreciated!

:welcome to nanotank! I too am a nanocube keeper, I have the 6 and a 12DX. If you want 3-4 fish like you mentioned I would re-think things and see if a 24 would be doable for you, that many fish would not work well in a 12. If you get one of the 2006 models most of the upgrades will already...

Alkalinity and Calcium (+ stocking Q's)

I also agree that once your tank has cycled you really don't need to test very often unless something isn't looking right, weekly water changes do a good job of replenishing trace elements and maintaining calcium, buffer, and alkalinity levels. There are a number of products out there if you...

If you call and tell the people at Premium Aquatics about the look you want ans the size of the tank they can help you get the right sized pieces and amount of LR for your new nanocube. I have bought from them before and they are willing to help you get whatever you need.

I agree that it sounds like a stressed green mushroom to me as well. Try Jesses idea and see if it will color back up. Good luck.

    Current USA "Fission" Protein Skimmer

I hope I didn't come off as being rude with my post and appologize if I did. I was only trying to give my view on the need of a skimmer in a nano.

    DICKIE CURSE......THE NUDI ATTACK

Any diea how long it takes for the eggs to hatch? With that information you could dip the zoos and then dip them again about a day after they should have hatched to take care of any that were missed due to their still being eggs. I think this would be a good treatment regimen as long as...

    Brown Algae??!

I agree, weekly water changes are an important part of maintaining you tank to keep all of your water parameters in check, not just keeping your nitrate levels down.
