    Auto Top-off

Which auto top-offs are being used on a 10 gallon nano that is sumpless. I am interested in getting one that maintains the level near the top of the tank without having big fluctuations in the water level. I need to get something soon because of having to leave my nano unattended for a real...

    6 gallon Tru Vu evolution...

I am saddened to hear about this setback. I so look forward to seeing the progression of this cute little nano. On another note, have you actually seen one of the Viper lights in action? Did it get real hot? If I go ahead with a MH on a nano I may need to do some rethinking, I am not sure if...

Nitrates are still up..what can I do?

Weekly partial water changes are the key to keeping your nitrate levels down, it may take a couple of water changes before you see a significant drop.

    Light question

Switch out the MaxiJet to a smaller pump and the temp should go back down some.

Need help making up my mind!

:welcome to nanotank. I think Jesse has covered the tank pretty well. One thing to note is that in a nano you usually do a weekly partial water change which negates the need for a protien skimmer.

Taking on a bigger project.... Please give ideas.

The decreased depth due to the sandbed will make a difference in the lighting needed, the depth that you are concerned with is the depth to the sandbed because it is the amount of water you are concerned with that your light has to penetrate. Its too early to say whether you will need a chiller...

    Upgrade for My 6g Nano?

You can add one more bulb like it stands (without having to do major reworking of the hood) and that would take you up to 36 watts doubling your current lighting.

I thought the way you had the rock laid out on the styrofoam lid was the way it was going in the tank, you still managed to get the crevices and gaps in the aquascape that make it look more natural to me though. This tank is going to rock! I thought about trying one of the new JBJ MHs on a...

    Upgrade for My 6g Nano?

The easiest is the one I mentioned which is basically plug and play, the nanocustoms version will look more original when looking at the ballast tanks equipment because you are adding a box that houses the ballasts instead of them being housed in the hood. It is basically up to you, both ways...

Best Filtration medium in 12 Gallon Aquapod?

Don't forget to rinse the sponge well at least once a week in some old tankwater.

What corals do you plan on keeping? If you want to keep SPS corals that need more current you may want to install a closed loop, if you are going to be keeping corals that don't need as much current then this would be an extra expense that would be no benefit to you. The simplest set up would...

22xs (extrashallow) fiji reef crest project

You have a regular frag farm going there. Are you planning on placing all of the frags in that tank or are some of them just growing out? I would love to see a more recent pic.

    Upgrade for My 6g Nano?

The easiest way to add another light would be to use a Coralife EZ ballast, they power one or two (depending on the model) PC bulbs from 18-55 watts. Here is a good deal on a couple of them available from a reefer over on nano-reef, here is a link to his post...
