Maxi - Jet 900 will not fit ?

You mention that it won't fit in the fourth chamber, this leads me to believe that you have the original model of the nanocube since the newer models only have three chambers. That being said you may not be able to upgrade to the MaxiJets, you may have to go with the MiniJet 606.

    Test question

Since there is still ammonia present you are still in the process of cycling, you may be close to through with the ammonia since you are showing nitrite levels but IMO you still have a long way to go before your tank is cycled. My guess would be at least 2 weeks minimum.

IT's OFFICIAL! I have HAD IT!

Thats the Berghia nudibranch that eats aiptasias. Some have had very good success with some fish like the copper banded butterfly but it can be hit or miss withem since not all of the seem to go after the aiptasias. A note on the camelback shrimp you mentioned, they may not touch aiptasias but...

    AZ-N03 Really Works!!!

As I recall it works bt helping to increase the efficiency of your skimmer, or at least that has something to do with it. I don't think you will get the same result if running skimmerless the way most of us run our nanos. I just wanted to point that out. On the other hand congratulations onn...

Any chance of something sending out sweeper tentacles or some chemical warfare? It seems pretty baffling to me as well.

Are your fish Compatible? - Marine Compatibility Chart

That is a great basic compatibility chart, thanks for sharing it. Just a side note to thers though, it is easier to read off of the link because they have a cross haired type pointer to help read the different columns.

    Temp. question

The swing is the biggest problem in your case. Your cats interest in laying on top of the hood may not be allowing the cooling fans to dissipate heat the way they are supposed to, this may be part of the reason for the rise in temperature.

    Temp. question

If the tank goes no higher than 80.5 then raising the heaters temp would be a good idea, but I would look to see if there is any way to get the temp to drop some with the lights on first. Perhaps a different pump or powerhead would produce less heat.

:welcome to the board. A small nano uses little electricity so you shouldn't feel much pain from your electric bill.

    Chromis Murderer?

Definitely watch this one. You may try feeding him more meaty foods, thats the way they house sharks with fish in public aquariums, they keep them fed to the point that they don't care about their normal prey swimming around them.

Need some advice for a wonderful friend's tank

Where is she getting her water from? I suspect that she isn't using a good water source with the PO4 present. The water changes as already mentioned are a good starting point. I would definitely try to get some chaetomorpha established in place of the bio-balls. If her sandbed is more than...
