Skipm, I'm going to do it, I will first calculate the price of shipping and since it's small pico's I'm dealing with not too much live rock I will see where this leads... I'm going to purchase 5 glass tanks all the same size as my award winning pico and then live sand and do all the reef...

New to the page. Here's my 4 gallon.

Thats too bad about your 4 gallon I was excited about where it was going... You should run both, just like me.... I had to run a nano again just couldn't be without one, but I would never tear down my 72 gallon beauty, well unless I plan on going bigger... ;-) MG

Trickle down filtration and bioballs = Nitrate???

Hey Jesse and folks, I don't want to run rubble, I don't need any extra filtration back in there, my live rock is 10 lbs and quality at that, I'm sure that would be enough... What I need for you guys and gals to recommend is what types of media could I place in there; chemipure, seachems...

Trickle down filtration and bioballs = Nitrate???

I need a simple question answered, so I thought of posting it here under general... I know that bioballs submerged in JBJ cubes can lead to high levels of nitratte, but what about the bioballs that are not submerged and have water trickled under them.... Will that be the same? I have 10...

    lgreen's 58g Oceanic Reef w/ remote plenum

I had to invest in my 1/4 JBJ chiller because of the massive amount of heat my lights were placing and my closed glass tops... Not to mention several in sump pumps and lots of MJ1200 in the display.... MG P.S Hope your new lights draw less heat... I've heard good things about those...

Hey Reefers, I got the coralife 1 watt moonlight today and custom installed it on the side of my metal halide... I also took a picture of the tank with the lights on for you reefers in a hurry to see it on... The water is still very cloudy as it won't become crystal clear until the...

The Berlin airlift 60 is working great, I've never used it before, first time... What really makes this simply skimmer is the fact that it's being powered by the Coralife luft pump... The pump is more expensive than the skimmer itself... With the pump it's just amazing for the nano tank...

Let's try this again, I got a replacement tank; what are the odds this one can leak? Well, I wasn't going to take a chance, I ran a water test first... After the tank cleared the water test, I carefully added the live sand and live rock back into the tank... I adjusted the skimmer and...

Skipm, They are extremely hot to the touch but then again what MH isn't? I saw it in action at my LFS in Hayward, Aquarium Concepts. He purchased like a whole crate full of these vipers. In my opinion they are great because they cost 1/4 the price of the coralife and do just as well...

Attention all Reefers... A small setback, I came home from dinner with my wife and went into my room and saw a small water puddle next to the tank. I quickly scanned the entire top of the tank hoping that maybe it was the aircheck valve on the skimmer and it wasn't. I moved the tank to...

Jordon, Not at all do I take things to heart... I'm about venturing into areas of reefing the critics have said no! Do you happen to know anyone that owns this tank and has the same setup as mine and did poorly because of lighting issues? I'm about trying them myself and then deciding...

Hi Ed, I'm a big fan of Coralife products; and the 150 HQI hang on the top is a great piece of equipment. I looked into the JBJ line and the Coralife. The JBJ are nice and compact but neither the 70 watt or the 150 watt have fans, they just heat up really hot like an oven. Don't get me...

Hey guys, Thanks for all the positive comments; skipm I thought I could place all the live rock in the display I was wrong. I wasn't able to fit one other piece, so I'm going to take that back and see if they give me credit for that rock, at $6.99 a pound I'll get some change...

    Light question

Any zoas will do fine and you can get many torch, hammer or frog corals... Stick to the smaller ones that have been fragged as they will grow quickly with time in your pod.... And yes the heat is being caused by the massive amount of heat the MJ1200 gives off; 20 watts.... MG
