    Red Slime Algae

I hate this stuff and have been dealing with it for a couple of months now. What kind of Sand are you using? How old is your tank? keep your water quality up and read this. Hopefully it helps. http://www.fishdoctors.com/ArticlesDetail.asp?id=127 Good luck. ;-)

Yellow Watchman Goby is a really cool little fish. I've got him in a 60 gallon right now, but I know they do well in smaller tanks.

June contest ideas? We need your input

That is a good idea. Also I unfortunately don't have a nano anymore, but still hang around the site for the people and the community. I'd love to not be excluded. I know this is a nano dedicated site, but there is room for a "not so Nano" forum so why not make some exceptions for us freaks...

    Hawaiian sea apples

electric scallop. I had one of these. Really cool, however after reading and researching them they almost always die in captivity as mine did. apparently they don't take the necessary precations when harvesting them from the reef and damage them. anyway.... stay away if you can.

Why am I a snail murderer?

I think (and my experience is limited) from everything I've heard that drip acclimation is most critical with the fishies. I've seen a lot of tanks where people just throw their coral and inverts right in, but I can't reacall hearing that many people do that with thier fishies. Could be wrong...

Why am I a snail murderer?

I'm not sure why the snails aren't making it. I don't acclimate snails and crabs except floating to bring temps within range. Never had a problem. sorry.

    Nano Fanatic!

CRUSHED CORAL SUCKS!!!!!! I started my tank with crushed coral and people told me not to use it. it took about a year to figure out why. I'm swapping it out and I highly recommend you do it now before you have any life in your tank. seriously it's not like starting over. get the finest grain...

    Nano Fanatic!

yeah from here on out you should just wait and ignore it if you can. Top off with fresh water when it needs it and just let nature take it's course. Everything will come back in due time. Jesse won't steer you wrong. ;-)

    Nano Fanatic!

Well first thing you want to do is get rid of that film on the surface of the water. Aim your return line up so that it disrupts the surface of the water. you might want to try removing some of that junk first though. I'm not sure what else to do as I haven't experienced anything like that...

    Cris' 60

I honestly have no clue where he went. I check my skimmer, fuge, sump, drain lines the top of my tank behind my tank......... everywhere. He was perfectly healthy so I know he didn't just up and die. He was eating everything in sight and finally became really comfortable in the tank with the...

I just purchased a tunze osmolator and I'm happy to say I love it. It's really the first piece of equipment that isn't a DIY project for my tank. Amazing how much more comfortable you feel with a product that cost you an arm and a leg. It's silent and well, perfect. :D thanks for convincing...
