I took the rock out per suggestion of my local pet store and did a 3 cup water change for two days so now I have the rock that I bought originally and my water is 100 percent better. Barely a trace of ammonia.

The rock was out of water for just over 3 hours. The guy at the fish store told me that it would be fine. It is growing this white film that looks like mold.

also... i have noticed a ton of little things that look like clear worms. there are little ones all over the rock and even a big thick on inside one of the rock holes. I thought I read somewhere that worms are bad... is that true?

and my water has gotten clowdy. The ammonia is off the charts. I know that that is normal but parts of the LR are turning white and black. That means that they are dying right? Is that normal?

There is so much contradictory info. Most places say not to add all of the rock at once. Just to add it slowly, test test test, and once it settles add some more.

okay, i didnt know that you could cycle the water with just live rock. I will take the fish back and buy more rock. I was also wondering what are some low level corals that I can get with a 50/50 light? once my tank is established of course.
