    Get as much light as you can afford. I'm running a tank with 70W Ushio 10,000K bulbs over it and each halide is flanked by 120W of PC actinic and I could actually use MORE actinic.

    bulkhead size

    You typically want the drain to be able to handle more than the return. It gives you some wiggle room. If the return pumps more than the drain can handle, you get 'wet carpet syndrome'

    Just keep an eye on it. The darker ones (blue & green) tend to like more shade, while the lighter ones prefer more direct light. If it starts to look bad, try moving it. Just my .02
