LR is getting a sort of white webbing on it....

That's from a bristle...you need to find him and try to get rid of him. Bristles that secrete a webbing are the bristles that WILL harm you fish...see this link: http://www.nanotank.com/viewtopic.php?t=846

Here's my sexy: I want to get another one...but my LFS hasn't stocked up on them in forever. Maybe I will get 3...I find them the most amusing little creatures, very agile, I never have to worry about smushing them with the rocks, I know they hold their own. Mine as you can...

    Identify This Please?

Mike...he went about his business the second I put him in the tank...so I'm hoping he'll pull through, he's been a good hard worker! Incy...from what I've found out...fireworms are generally harmless just like bristles...but certain species are no-nos...someone identified it as a "Bearded...

Need your opinion on Bristle worms

There are different kinds of bristleworms...I just found out about fireworms...and boy are they ugly. Although most people assume that fireworms are dangerous to the tank, only some species of fireworms aren't reef-safe...the bearded one in particular that I had, was a definite no-no in a tank...

    Identify This Please?

So I took the entire rock and I stuck it in ICE COLD water...saw him limping out of one of the holes and tweezered him out, put him into a little tub: I felt bad though coz one of my snails was attached to the rock...he got shocked LOL...he started letting go of the rock pretty fast when...

    Identify This Please?

I've had mixed reviews about that. Usually the types of worms that eat corals aren't bristles...and there are some bristle worms that exude a kind of "net"...so if you ever see your bristle exude something more than just white puffy smoke, you need to take that sucker out because he will net...

    Identify This Please?

Bristle worms bad? I've never read anywhere that says that...but then again, there are many types of bristle worms. From what I've read so far, it seems that fireworms are in the same family as bristles...I don't know what identifies them as fireworms though--it could be that they are more...

    Identify This Please?

Mike, Someone identified it as a fireworm...wether or not this is true--I don' tknow, but I know nothing about fireworms. He said that they were harmless, just don't touch them with my skin--can anyone else confirm that this is in fact, a fireworm and that they are reef safe? Thanks.

    Nano setup

I wouldn't recommend putting the Bio Balls or ceramic rings. It should come with 3 sponges...only put 1 in and the other 2 keep as spares/back ups. In my tank, 1st compartment has: Carbon/Phosban and the 2nd compartment has Chaeto...it is a macro algae, if you don't have a light back there...

    Fighting Corals

Just do homework on the corals you will buy before coming home with them. Many corals have sweeper tentacles, others just sting anything that touches it. I wouldn't recommend any corals really that have sweepers for a nano, but if they're small and you give them ample space...it should be...

    new to nano

If you're going to buy a tank and put clowns in it, try to keep them the same type of clown. Also...get tank-raised as much as you can...their "aggro-range" is not nearly as much as wild bred clowns...but if you're going to upgrade soon, you can get away with getting baby wild bred ones and...

I would have gotten the 24g if my desk could have supported it--but alas...no. However...I speak to Chris from nanocustoms.com quite a great deal...and he really dislikes the 24 gallons right now (1st edition)...I believe they are coming out with 24 gallon 2nd editions which will be better...
