updated pics of my pico 03.05.05

Let me see if I understood you right, but let me say this, and it may answer your question. example: If you have a 3 head frag of hammer coral, and one head dies, it basically stays dead, nothing will form on it. The other two heads could split in the future though, forming within the...

    Float Switch Question

Hey Skip: I dont think you'd need an auto-top off switch for your jbj. With how they close around nicely and flush, the water hardly evaporates, and by the time, it reaches the end of the week it's time for a water change :) Summer although may be different though unless you have your...

updated pics of my pico 03.05.05

Thank you all for your kind replies. Dave: I am not concerned so much with the frogspawn, but more concerned with my galaxia. When I bought it I was unaware of the long sweeping tentacles it has. According to incysor it has one of the meanest stings, stronger than that of frogspawn...

Hey Vafik: How does 36 cents a gallon Catalina sound? lol That's the price here in Southern California or at least the price they charge at Tongs in Fountain Valley. I pay like a 1.95 to fill my 5 gallon jug. As for my lighting they are the two 18 watts 50/50 PC's clip on lights.

Should I go wireless? Computer guys, I need your help

Are you kidding me dj? This is the fun part! Put it together in pride! For the most part, you will not experience loss in bandwidth. It's not like you are enclosed in lead walls are you? hehe. Even if for any reason you were experiencing loss of bandwidth/signal, you could just get a signal...

    Clowns and Chromis

I am not entirely sure as I am new to the hobby as of Nov 2004, but that's how it was explained to me by my older brother. (he'll have to step in and go and clarify as he has 10+ years under his belt....Mike can you help on this one??) I always had the understanding they were bred so as to be...

    .75g Red Sea Aqua Vase

I understand about your friend being short on time with the new baby, and I appreciate your efforts in asking too, that's very cool. I hate DIY type stuff, but I guess I could try. Where could I find the materials? Home Depot or what? Some thin clear plastic, and then get plastic cutting...

    Clowns and Chromis

weekly water changes will be fine. Shouldn't encounter any problems with good maintenance/habits :) I took the liberty to read up on the green chromis. Doesn't seem of bad temperament, but they say they do best in like a school of 6 which would call for a bigger tank like 75 gallons. So I...

    Clowns and Chromis

1.) & 2.) True percula - Comes right from the wild, so he/she knows what to naturally host in (anemones), it also is more sketchy and afraid as they are not used to human contact. More likely to scurry to hide. Takes them a while to be accustomed to being around humans and also to the...

Pico 1.5 future investment (pics inside)

Hey USP55, and welcome to Nanotank. I saw them at my LFS too, fully stocked with corals and what not, selling for about the same price, or more. I saw that and was like, I want one! I'd like to get a plastic lid for it though to help slow the evaporation rate though.
