I guess when the ballast went the way of the DoDo, it decided to take my brand new bulbs with it! :burningup $40 later I have two new bulbs in and it works fine again. Thanks to those who offered their help.

There is no starter under the hood, only a circuit board that the fans plug into. The fuse blew on the old ballast, presumably when the rest of it melted down, but the fuse on the new hood is good. I'm going to call Chris at Nanotuners this afternoon. He offered to troubleshoot it for me...

I decided it was time to replace the light bulbs, splash shield, and gasket on my 12 DX. I ordered new bulbs and splash shield from JBJ. I unplugged the ballast before I took apart the lid and put the new parts in. When I had finished, I plugged the ballast back in. SPARK! SPARK! POOOFF...

Where is this store located? I live in Corona, and go to Tong's fairly regularly and am looking for an alternative store with some unique frags. I agree with what you say about Tong's fish. Buy with caution!

Sadielynn, Although they are no clipart, some of them may have worked but they are such low resolution that by the time I photoshopped the fish out of the picture and enlarged it, the picture was very blurry. Thanks for the try. I guess I may be S.O.L. :cryinga:

I too am battling my first bout of flatworms. I have used Flatworm Exit four times now and these darn things keep comming back!!! :burningup It seems they are gone for a day or two and them I start seeing them popping back up again. I'm now treating my cube every few days to get rid of them...

My 12 gal nano has finished cycling and now I'm thinking I want to upgrade to MH lighting so I can keep a clam in the tank. Is there a preferred way to do this? Are there complete systems available for the nano's out there? I don't have a problem tossing the stock DX lid system if theres a MH...
