Has anyone flipped one fan around on their Nanocube?

so I flipped both fans around so theyre sucking air into the canopy as opposed to blowing it out. I think its been working alot better, its definitely something to try before trying adding fans.

    PC nanocube lighting questions

Got the exact one youre talking about, how can you beat 7 bucks when each fan replacement is 13? I cracked the hood a little with some golf pencils, temp dropped 4 degrees last night with it on all night, and is holding at 82 today. Ambient temp in the room is about 78-79

    Nanocube powerhead nozzle options?

I went to a LFS, they had a 12 aquapod with the right attachment. They also had some pieces of it, but no output nozzles. I think our outputs are 1 1/2 inches, but Ill make sure. I also found this http://www.fishlore.com/er_hydorflo.htm I dont know if its good enough to take out my Hagen 301.

    Nanocube powerhead nozzle options?

I wanted to know if there s anything available that will turn my single output nozzle on my 24 nanocube into a dual output. Im thinking like on the bigger tanks, that adjustable plastic balls and sockets. Or is it just another figure it out and DIY??

    Placing frags?

Im going to be buying a few new frags in the next couple of weeks, but theyll be my first. How does everyone recommend placing them? Leave them on the dish they came on and try to hide it? I do see some people attaching them to the back wall of the tank? Possible? Looking for nice growth and...

    PC nanocube lighting questions

I was going to go that route as well, its hard to find PC lighting equipment locally at Home Depot, havent been to Loews yet. Another problem Ill run into is the heat shield design, Im assuming Ill at least need to order that. Do you think 72w isnt enough for coral growth? I took a nice zoo frag...

    PC nanocube lighting questions

K Ill leave well enough alone. I did unplug one harness at a time, and strangely both fans and 1 light goes off with either unplug. Did you wire all your mods up yourself? What else did you do?

    PC nanocube lighting questions

What if I was to go one full actinic bulb and one 50/50 bulb on my 24 nanocube dx? I was wanting to do a sunrise sunset, maybe by unplugging one harness from the ballast just to test, then hooking in a timer? Right now theyre both 50/50, would I be hurting anyhting by going one full actinic? I...

Has anyone flipped one fan around on their Nanocube?

24 Nanocube dx, 36wx2, both 50/50. Im seeing temps up to 82 with the lights on. I was wondering if flipping one fan around might help with circulation. I know its not really a crossflow design, but the influx of cooler air might help. Any suggestions?

What is the Best nano tank?

You can find used nanocubes for around 175-250 with stand. I got mine at the lower end of that range, but had to buy bulbs and fans for it, about 70 bucks. I did get liove sand and about 15lbs of live rock which helped, but still had to put more into it. I think the 24gal DX with PCs is around...

    Nanocube timer questions

Does anyone have their nanocube on a timer? If so do the moonlights work independently with the timer off?? Im doubting it, power to ballast isnt there. Unless someone has hardwired the moonlights. Stinks because timers make it easy and consistent. Just another DIY...

Replacement fans on a jbj 12 deluxe!

I went to microcenter and got 2 fans that fit perfectly but at less than half the price. I cut and spliced the old connector in, the new fan had 3 wires. The 3rd wire is usually used for a tachometer, so the comp knows its working, but on these things they run all the time. SO far so good...

Replacement splash guard for 24 nanocube?

Replacing 6 gallon nano cube fans

I went to a local computer parts store, Microcenter, and got 2 of the exact same size fans for my 24 nano. They were the 60x60x15mm fans, but came 3 wire. I cut and spliced the old connector in connected power and ground and they worked great. Only cost 12,99 a piece too.
