ok so my worst nightmare has come true.........i had just finished my new plumbing job, when i noticed the fitting to my bulkhead was loose, so what did i do....tighten it, way to much and broke the bottom of my tank. god im an idiot, i knew better, i was so happy i finished that i wasnt...

i use loctite superglue gel, but i have used the others with no ill effects.

do a 50% water change, it wouldnt hurt to use DeNitrate.

it only has to be tempered if your running a MH light.

i think the only way you would be able to control them seperatly would be to cut the power cords from the ballast box to the hood and splice in two female and two male plugs. then you would be able to plug in two timers. there might be another way but im drawing a blank....HTH :idea:

well my fuge/sump has been up for about an month and all i can say is that i works great. couple little mods here and there but nothing major. one of the mods was for the return of the top off to cross middle section and dump into the LR filter instead of the sump area. i was getting to many...

thats what i thought but one of the LFS guys said that you couldnt or didnt recommend it. i said the same thing. i wasnt sure though. well that takes care of my issue....thanks

doesnt show in the pic, but what are you using for glass? are you using UV glass or regular glass or stock? just curious, im at that part of my DIY, what to put on the inside of my canopy.....

our LFS cant keep it in the stores for anything, they sell like hotcakes. i sell my pom pom xenia and red sea xenia.

have you tried selling them to your LFS? i sell mine to them all the time. i know xenia does NOT ship well.

actually i think i read somewhere that those are a type of flat worm but are safe. just have to look out for the red and brownish ones. cha cha has them in his tank and ive have watched them eat small isopods(i think its "isopods" the bad ones).

it wont hurt the LR but i have never been able to get it to work that well. doesnt work that well under water. i use super glue gel or underwater apoxy or puddy.

the super glue will be fine. thats what most people use in there tanks. i use it everyday to glue frags on rocks. you shouldnt have a problem with what you did. i have to do the same thing soon, my fish just love to go for that ride, and then i spend an hour triing to get them out of my...
