I was also going to add that you can buy a shelf and mount it above your tank and then suspend the light. I rent to. to tell you the truth I just got a new fish stand, and I am going do the shelf method. Right now the light is hanging from one of my deer heads.

IT is about 7 inches above the tank now, I was easing my corals into the MH. Next week it will be about 5in from the water. Then I will make a custom hood for the bow.

I would say 150 just b/c I have a 70 over my minibow now. I think the 150 will have heat issues but like he said it can be figured out. you can also use your atinic lights for a blue look.

as I posted in the other tread, you should go with a MH, just a little bit more but you won't have to upgrade later. and it cost the same about to replace the bulbs in each, and the MH will last longer and look a lot better. Well I guess it depends on what corals you want to go with. I have sps...

I think you should just pull the xenia off. When I frag the xenia I just pull real hard and it comes off. Or if it is stubborn I use the razor blade as mentioned before. you know if you just cut the stalk alomost all the way down it will grow new polyps just from that little bit left.

That doesn't seem like a bad price, I would personally go with a 70MH if you are wanting that many watts. I have a 70MH with a usio 10k bulb and it is perfect for me and you can't beat the way it looks on my MiniBow.
