    thanks guys.. the fire was still dead this morning just in a different spot.... only reason i bought them was because the tests all read zero except nitrate... he said nitrate was at the first tiny tick above zero but he said it was perfect... i know a week is a little short for cycling time...

    i bought ocean water to start up the cycling... my thoughts were that ocean water would help the cycling process because its natural... with the salt mix you need to make saltwater with RO/DI water and can be a hassle to mix, test, mix, etc... and basically its man-made saltwater so i figured...

    Moving a tank

    just a question on top of your post: i know with a 40gal and 15gal sump its prolly necessary, but with a 5.5 gal like i have would i need to do all that? or just move the 1 piece of LR that can fall over and move the tank carefully and replace the 1 piece of LR.... should i lower the water level...

    good point about the shift... maybe ill paint it... ill see if i can find a blue i like.. but if not i have black spray paint... how do you recommend i do it? take out the HOB tape off the top and sides and just spray it?

    no complaints from my fish yet... but either way my tank wont be any warmer than 73-74 unless i buy another heater like that.. my room is 69-71 degrees which keeps the tank around 70

    figured it was time for some new pics... so while doing some research online i see that my fish is indeed not a fiji devil.. looks almost identical but he is a little too round... if anyone knows the true name let me know... i guess the next step is to build some sort of stand for that...

    so my lights came.. i got a fiji devil damsel to swim around as my only fish,,, but he seems to have perched himself inside the liferock (like literally inside a cave in one of those holes) and he wont come out... like at all.. im afraid he has died in there and i wont be able to get him out...

    used my 18v cordless combo set to make myself a lexan lid for the tank.. cut almost exatly around the filter (which leaves me no room to move it, but i like the placement) it fits like a glove... and a makeshift handle makes it easy to lift up and drop food down into... =0) pics soon...
