I'm buying a metal halide and don't know what kind of bulb to get. What do all the spectrums mean. Which one should I get. This is a lot of questions but I want my tank to be perfect. Would 175 watts over a 24 gal be too much. What exactly is alkalinity and what should it be at. What about pH.

I just bought a 125 watt metal halide pendant for my 24 gallon tank, is this over kill. Will this cause an insane amount of algea. Could the lights have any negative effects on the tank.How long should i run them for each day. Thanks

What are some good fish to add to start cycling your tank. Iam also using live rock. Should i even add fish. If so what are some good starters that are fairly inexpesive.

I did add the bag sand, but i know a place where i can get some other sand. does this mean my tank wont cycle yet. also i took out the bioballs and ceramic rings, is that ok.
