Can I use a ac300? it will be on a 10gal. The LFS wants $85.00 for a ac500! I could order a 500 online if I need to. But, If I can get the same results from a 300 I'll just get that. It will also make it easier to follow the DIY thread above, it uses a ac300.

Yes it is a MH. Its 20k 175 watts. I may have to play with how high its off the water but, so far the temp hasn't been an issue.
