well got my bulb from JBJ lastnight, installed it and seemed to fix my problem...I must had faulty bulb! All though the new bulb doesnt look any different from the old one? But for now all is good! thanks all!

good point! i'm sure if not the bulb i'm sure it will continue to do what its doin cutting off/on. It starts to do it not even few minutes after it cuts on. So if i replace bulb and continues then i know its the ballast and not bulb issue. i will def put it to the test! wish me luck! :mrgreen:

THANKS! I asked them if they are just guessing or they know for sure its a bulb? They replied said very rare for their ballast to go bad, said they had problems like this with their older bulbs "which i guess i got " said they have new bulb out which is much better?? I hope this fixes my prob...

JBJ responded to my email, said they will replace the bulb under warranty. I guess they are thinking its the bulb not the ballast?? since that is what they sent me in the email. we shall see!

It just happened over the weekend so have to wait till today "tues" to call b/c they were not opened over the holiday weekend. I will call today and see what they say... thanks!

i read the same thing saying that when bulb needs replaced it will do this sometimes..i hope its just a bulb going out. Should i try buying new bulb 1st or what yall think i should do? i hate to buy a bulb and not be a bulb issue. But i gotta do what i gotta do! I need a light asap!

I got a Salifert Alk test kit today and did the test with no results?? I followed the directions as listed but my water in test vial never changed to the orange-red or pink color as directions says it should. I did a test on the water i get from LFS and it turned to pink color at 7.7KH. I did...

Yea good thinkin! but i was to curious to what my tank was doin so went to petsmart and got that exact kit for like $26. I come home and ran all my test... PH -7.8 ammonia - .25 Nitrite - 0 nitrate - 0 its been 7days since i started the tank and put my LR in. Should i do a water change...
