My neighbor has an outdoor pond. Algae covers it up during the summer. That would be a tough battle for an outdoor reef tank.

Ok Idog--May I make a suggestion? Dont place your ballast in the NanoCube's stand. The ballast needs open air in order to cool properly. Leaving the ballast in the stand may cause it to overheat. Just a suggestion
