How to mod an AC150 for surface skimming?

Anyone know how? I made a little overflow box for my 20 (see here http://www.nanotank.com/viewtopic.php?t=85) but I don't want to lose all that space in my 5.5. Has anyone modified the intake tube to do a U turn and suck water from the surface?

Surface Skimming

I was going to do the same for my 2.5 gallon.

Instead - I purchased a AquaClear surface skimmer.
It will fit on your AquaClear HOB.

I did have to cut it down to fit - but it works great.
